Menstrual Hygiene Day, is a global initiative dedicated to raising awareness about menstrual health and hygiene management. This year, the Kuafiri family is focused on period poverty, and empowering individuals to recognise menstrual health as an important aspect of well-being. 

This is a FREE event!

This event is being run by Kusafiri World Centre in Ghana.

WHO IS THIS EVENT FOR?

Menstrual Hygiene Day celebration is open to all willing to commit to creating a world where every individual has access to safe and dignified menstrual hygiene management.

If you are booking as a unit/troop this must be booked by a leader aged 18+. At least two adult leaders will need to attend the session along with their unit/troop. Two leaders may attend for free. Simply book the number of tickets needed for youth participants and any additional leaders. You do not need tickets for the two free leaders.

Individuals under the age of 16 who are not attending with a unit/troop need to be booked by an adult aged 18+ and an adult must attend the session with them.

Individuals aged 16 and 17 who are not attending with a unit/troop may book themselves into a session and do not need an adult to attend with them.

WHAT ACTIVITIES ARE INVOLVED?

Our celebration will feature engaging activities designed to educate and inspire our communities, which includes but not limited to;

  • A short learning about period poverty and its ripple effects on individuals, communities, and the world at large,
  • Engaging activities to further our understanding of period poverty and the many factors that influence it, 
  • Highlight of MOs that are actively working to curb period poverty,
  • A call to action and discussion about how we can all support ending period poverty.
